In this Above-the line panel, our filmmaking family in invited to participate in an exciting industry deep-dive with 5 Hollywood Above-The-Line creatives( Elias Acosta, Bruce Logan, Jim Ellis and Ezequiel Martinez) who have a long track-record of success and creative content creation.
This panel is part 2 of our A-List series and will dig into the producing, creative execution, technological aspects, as well as creating, protecting and monetizing IP.
Elias Acosta is a renowned director, writer, and cinematographer, who successfully creates in the US, as well as the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico and has become a top-of-the-range national industry household name, with productions like the DR film export and International film franchise Nr 1: The Sanky Panky franchise, currently in pre-production for it’s 4th sequel to be shot in Kenya and directed and produced by Acosta.His most popular and recent US films include the faith-based thriller Refuge from the Storm (starring Michael Madsen and Kristen Quintrall), which he directed and co-wrote. Elias' most current and technically cutting-edge project will be shooting this spring in the US and is called "Tracing Force," a dystopian thriller starring Anabelle D. Munro, Del Weston, and Aulio Ivan Cortiz.
Bruce Logan served as the cinematographer for TRON.Logan is probably best known for his visual effects work on films like 2001: A Space Odyssey, Star Wars: Episode IV-A New Hope and Star Trek: The Motion Picture. However, he has also worked as a cinematographer on films like The Incredible Shrinking Woman and the forthcoming Drones, Clones and Pheromones.
Ezequiel was an intern for producer Tova Laiter at Paramount Pictures for the movie Varsity Blues. Ezequiel had the opportunities to work with Hollywood names such as, Albert S. Ruddy (Oscar award winning producer of The Godfather and Million Dollar Baby), Madonna's Maverick Films, and after many assignments and spec options/sales -- returned to Disney to work on an untitled Salma Hayek picture.After many award winning short films he has directed, independent features he has produced, Ezequiel continues to work as a signatory WGAw. screenwriter.
Issac Hernandez is a Hollywood EP, producer, director, programmer and film director and has served in many high caliber executive positions within the entertainment industry. VP of Programming and Syndication and General Manager of Parables TV are only a few of his recent credits.
Isaac has over 40 years of experience in the Christian Television industry, directing and producing hundreds of TV shows for the Trinity Broadcasting Network. As VP of Acquisitions at Olympusat and General Manager of Parables TV, he found and acquired programming for multiple networks: Parables TV and Upliftv as well as overseeing all operations of Parables TV. Isaac is also the host of his own show, “Faith On Film”.
Jim Ellis is the Founder and Owner of the Film HUB Studios and Inspired Images, Vista CAWith more than 35 years experience and a keen interest in both business and design, Jim Ellis is known for producing award-winning products from TV commercials to feature films. Ellis’s passion for the industry drove him to open his first video production company, Inspired Images, in 1985. In 2015 Ellis and his business partner Elias Acosta were successful in releasing a full-length faith-based feature film called “Refuge From The Storm.”
