THE BIGGER PLANS PROJECT

4 MINS

DIRECTOR: LACHI

SYNOPSIS: A woman (Zazel), paralyzed on her right side stands alone in an art gallery. She embarks on a journey of self discovery through dance. And while she originally abandons her cane, finds that loving her full self includes her cane, and she is liberated to embark on her bigger plans. The video was directed, produced, styled and sponsored by persons with disabilities and disability inclusion allies. All aspects of the outfits worn by Zazel were donated by adaptive and disability-inclusive clothing brands (including the turban and cane). The location--Positive Exposure--is an artspace focussed on art from marginalized communities and all artworks displayed in the shoot were created by students with disabilities. The video was directed by Lachi (a blind artist and writer), starred Zazel ( a brain-tumor survivor), and was styled and co-produced by Angela Bianchi (an inclusive-forward fashion designer).
